Our membership categories are:

Student Technician West African Internal Auditors (STWAIA)

Qualifications: To qualify for this category, the applicant must be an undergraduate or a Youth Corper, and must have 0 to 2 years working experience in assurance providing services (Internal/external auditing, internal control or Risk management, etc.).
Associate West African Internal Auditors (AWAIA)

Qualifications: To qualify for this category, the applicant must be a graduate (HND or BSc), and must have three to five years working experience in assurance providing services (Internal/external auditing, internal control or Risk management, etc.).
Certified West African Internal Auditors (CWAIA)

Qualifications: To qualify for this category, the applicant must be a graduate (HND or BSc), must have a Professional Qualification (It must be a professional body that requires an exam for qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, etc.). MSc., MBA or PhD can be used as professional qualification. The applicant must also have between 6 and 9 years working experience in assurance providing services (Internal/external auditing, internal control or Risk management, etc.).
Fellow West African Internal Auditors (FWAIA)

Qualifications: To qualify for this category, the applicant must be a graduate (HND or BSc), must have a Professional Qualification (It must be a professional body that requires an exam for qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, etc.). MSc., MBA or PhD can be used as professional qualification. The applicant must also have a minimum of ten (10) years post professional qualification working experience in assurance providing services (Internal/external auditing, internal control or Risk management, etc.).
